Welcome to Montpellier SupAgro, international center for higher education in agricultural sciences
Montpellier SupAgro, a new entity since 2007, but an old lady whose roots started in 1842, when the first agricultural institute settled in this ground, thank's to the support of the French State. Changes and improvements transformed it into a national school of agriculture in 1870.
A major landmark a century later, in 1960: the school became part of the Higher National Schools of Agronomy and doing so could award the Ingénieur Agronome qualification (Engineer Degree).Times goes on, bringing new ideas and developments in the teaching and training objectives.
In 2005, Vinifera EuroMaster, master degree in vine and wine has been implemented with the partnership of Bordeaux Sciences Agro.
Multidisciplinarity and mobility: two key factors shaping the training course! Viticulture and enology, social and economics sciences are part of the disciplines taught.
Another innovative approach is that students may learn in English in France! Lectures of the first year (M1) are delivered in English in Montpellier. So, now students won't be afraid of the Moliere's stress, they won't be obliged to get it!
For their second year (M2), students have to choose the hosting country, according to EMaVE partners' specificities, and given their language ability.
The courses are mainly delivered in the national languages, except for Germany where teaching is entirely in English.
Montpellier is not only a university city which gives the students the best environnment to carry out their studies, but it is also a good place where outdoor activities are just easy at any time of the year!
